downgrade more, looks like 19 is affected too somehow... at least i can run php as a web server user with a manipulation with .htaccess on 19 too... with suexec... if you are shared hosting you are done - now your customers are really shared all between each other. huge security hole, reported on 19 but moved to 20 successfully. seriously, it is not good at all...

bobykus's issue has a different cause, we thought it is the same as the other one. After more investigation today, we have it addressed in the latest 4.2.20 build published today.
official 4.2.21 release is coming.

please check the ower/permission along the path /dev/shm/lsws/gzip
make sure this folder exists and nobody user(which litespeed process run as) can create/update/delete folders/files under /dev/shm/lsws/gzip

I want to set that directory to use with gzip. Can you give instructions on how to make the folder with the proper owner/group and permissions?

Which control panel you use?
This issue should have been fixed with the latest 4.2.21 build a while ago, please try force reinstall 4.2.21 .
